True North Church

After another day of travel, we have made it to Marlborough area. We got to meet the Pastors and get settled in to our lodging for the night. We also got to have an orientation meeting and share about our experiences at Niagara Falls yesterday. Tomorrow is an early morning for breakfast and then Sunday service, we are excited! 

Started the morning off right today with breakfast, personal devo time, church preparation, and prayer. Expecting wonderful things this week.

We had a wonderful Sunday morning at church service! Pastor Logan shared about the power we have with what we say. The words we use matter, and it is important to speak things that are encouraging and uplifting. He preached out of the book of James. 

This afternoon we journeyed into Boston! It was an eye opening experience to see the vibrant city. We learned about much of the history, doing a self-guided walk through some of the freedom trail. While we did the trail, we gave out notes of encouragement and waters to those we encountered along the way. Many of those encounters led to smiles, prayer, and ultimately opportunities to show God’s love. 

It was an early morning for breakfast at 8, but with all the help in the kitchen, the cooking was easy! The ladies did an amazing job with the eggs and bacon. We also had some cereal and bagel options as well. 

These three worked hard in the kitchen today! First they helped bake the cookies, then they put all the cookie boxes together. As our host pastor said, “these look like they come from an actual bakery”. Well done ladies! After the cookie boxes were assembled a few teams went downtown to deliver them to businesses. This is one way the First Baptist Church of Marlborough shows love and intentionality in the community. 

Tonight’s meal was tacos (it’s Tuesday). It was another wonderful day of ministry which was painting, surveys, and giving out cookies to the community. The heart behind these ministries is to serve the local church (painting) and to show that the church cares and that God cares. Many of us were able to have impactful conversations with people we met. One group who started the morning with an hour of prayer walking had the chance to pray for a woman who had just had a tragic event happen in her life. She was grateful for the prayer, and the group who prayed for her shared the interaction with the rest of the team during our nightly debrief. 

Today is our last full day of ministry. We have had an incredible trip, and are ready to finish strong! First, we fueled up with eggs and sausages. Then we fueled up spiritually by praying for another. Then as a whole group we thanked God for what He has done in our lives and on this trip. God is good! 

Putting together Nine Square for Parents Night Out Ministry. The point of this event is to be able to give parents a chance to invest in their spouse and spend time together. We look after the kids, while the parents can go on a date night. This has been a huge blessing for parents in the community. 

Said goodbye to Marlborough today. Prayed for Pastor Logan and his family. It was a great week! We are now back on the road.
