Rocky Mount Youth

Our staff for the week are ready to receive the team! We are expecting a great week of ministry!

Tonight we are having our first Puerto Rican dinner: rice with meatballs, bread, and salad! What a delicious start to our week. Now off to bed as we rest up for church tomorrow!

We’re up and ready! Our day started with our first team meeting. We have shared our expectations for the week, gone over the policies and learned a little about Puerto Rico’s culture. 

This morning we are starting day 1 of VBS! Our theme verse is Acts 2:28, "You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence."

A few of us are working on repairing a leak in the church's roof. We are working with contactor Max this week to make sure everything runs smoothly!

The biggest construction project of the week is turning this storage container into an office space with two rooms! In the future it will be used for the women's and young adults ministry at the church.

We opened up a fresh coconut to try the water and fruit. Delicious! A big thank you to Max for helping us cut it!

Today we are continuing the container project. It is slowly coming along! Windows are on their way! Excited to see how much more we can get done! 

This afternoon we returned to Iglesia Metodista Un Nuevo Amanecer. We are starting to paint the sanctuary walls from purple to cream. Pastora Gloria is very grateful for the help!

After a long day, we are enjoying some sweet treats from a local bakery. We can’t choose our favorite, they’re all so good!

We are tired but happy to be here again with the kids this morning! It has been such a fulfilling week spending time with them.

This morning we were able to take a trip to the hardware store and get the materials needed for the floor of the container. It's already starting to look brand new!

New floor is installed! It gave such a good restart to the container. We feel blessed and happy that we got to help Max and the church this week!

Right on time we were able to finish painting inside the church in Moca. Pastora Gloria and the other church members are very blessed and grateful for the work we accomplished in just a few days!

Today is a day of celebrating all that God has done this week! We are handing out candy and certificates to the kids before having a fun water day!

After some delicious cheesecake, we are spending the afternoon at the beach! We were able to visit two beaches, Shacks Beach and Crash Boat. What a refreshing way to end the week!
