PCOTW Youth Group

We arrived last night and are excited to begin the week! There’s so many new people we are going to meet, ways we are going to use our gifts and talents to serve God, and we are expectant that God is going to move!

We came up with a team covenant this morning. Some of the things we agreed on were having open arms, stay in the word, be flexible, and treat others how they want to be treated (the platinum rule). Pray for us as we seek and put forth effort to honor this covenant. 

Leo introduced us to New Community Church this morning and thanked them for having us! Pastor Dodd preached a message on staying strong in your faith in the battle against your flesh. Jesus has the victory!

Yesterday, we took a group photo and included Pastor Dodd and Dr. Scott, she is our project coordinator throughout the week. We got to hear about the food pantry she started who has impacted the lives of 30,000+ families in the Chicagoland area. She recently purchased the whole strip mall where the food pantry is at and is in the process of renovating it. It will be called the Abba Center, and it will provide resources for various community needs. 

Jesus taught the disciples about extending compassion and love to children. Today, we have the privilege of doing a little Vacation Bible School with children. We did a song, lesson, snacks and now crafts!
